Hi there Lighthouse Sisters!

Today Sister Madeline Redesky shares a great devotion with us!  Thank you Madeline!

Blessings on this day!

I have been thinking and praying on the topic for today. It is not only for my sisters — But is especially for me!

A Spirit of Discipline and Self-Control

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but (He has given us a spirit of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.
2 Timothy 1:7

For many years I have struggled with fear. Fear is not of God as stated in 2 Timothy 1:7. Through much prayer and with the help of the Holy Spirit He has undergirded me to succeed.

This is very difficult to open my heart to my beloved sisters. I am a very private person;  but Our Lord has impressed upon me —- it’s not about me. It is about being in unity and fellowship with my beloved sisters and brothers in the Lord.

Our weapon is His sword — His Scriptures. Our thoughts, words, and emotions are among the most important areas we need to discipline.

Good example — I love music and to worship through my voice and my instrument the xylophone. It has taken me years and hours of practice, to keep discipline for my music skills. Which Our Lord has blessed me with.

When we are disciplined we will maintain the correct mental attitude toward issues that arise.

My beloved sisters it is difficult, it is still easier to maintain a right attitude then to regain it once it’s lost.

Remember God is the God of order he has given us a spirit of discipline and self-control.

Your Servant In Christ
